3 rd Grade Buddies

We met with our 3rd grade buddies today.  The students worked together to make bunny helicopters and then we took them outside to "fly" them.  It's fun to see how my kindergartners become attached to their buddy.  During writing time today Emma wrote that she loves her 3rd grade buddy.  We chose a fun activity today because our buddies will start taking the MAP test next week and we wanted them to enjoy some non stress time before then.  We have surprises that we hope will encourage them next week.  We know they will do a great job on their MAP test.

Chicks and Ducks

We just finished a study on eggs and chicks.  We watched 5 chicks actually hatch from the eggs; 4 in one morning!  Very exciting!!  We also read "The Chick and the Duckling"; we made a venn diagram to compare and contrast chicks and ducklings.  We even had a duckling visit our room!  Thanks Mrs. Burgess! 
We each made a paper chick and duckling to decorate our bulletin board along with the venn diagram.

First Time Blogger

This is my first time to blog.  I'm excited and apprehensive at the same time.  I'm hoping this will be a new tool to use to communicate with my parents.
